someone saying beard said that "judges throw out too long motions" and beard tripping over himself to quickly say "i didn't say that" so things are going great over on Team Creep
objection to motion to continue, from monica and ron, talking about beard's emails and him appearing on... i think it was blackface lawyer's show. someone's show over on Team Creep
which is all important, because beard tried to claim to the court that he needed to delay for more time, but his emails and him fucking around on a show clearly show that's a false statement
tldr, in the wake of kickvic, jessie pridemore mentions another bad encounter in the industry but, unlike with vic, doesn't name names, so haberkorn decides to do that himself because he's an absolute fucker, i suppose
I just saw him admitting that he didn't perceive what he did when he pulled a girl's hair as assault but he also didn't deny that he did it so it's like
I think it was another lawtwitter dude who said the problem isn't a lack of evidence, it's that the vicstans dont recognize any of it as evidence because they think the behavior is perfectly ok
like you end up trying to argue that a scummy guy did a scummy thing and should be punished for it to a bunch of scummy people who think you should be allowed to do those scummy things
re: RWBY, my guess is that they were also looking for someone who'd sound relatively close so that the VA change would be less jarring. It'll be noticable if you're listening for it, but if you're not it'll sound similar enough
Also yeah, forgetting who the defendants are in this case all the time. Jesus Vic's gonna get fleeced and Percy Beard is going to get out with no consequence and a nice pot of Vic's money barring any real ethics complaints.
I mean, no consequence besides publicly being outed as a sham of a lawyer who neither clients nor courts are going to have a lot of faith in after this
Beard's firm already got caught sending fake subpoenas before this. I think this is just their way of getting another pay day since their reputation isn't going to get fixed.
1. "I like [thing or person]" 2. "Nothing and no one I like can be bad." 3. "People are saying [thing or person] is bad." 4. "Based on premises 1 and 2, those people must be intentionally lying."
Yeah like my Mom's kind of center-rightish and I happened to tell her about this case and she read about it and her immediate reaction was just this sadness that we had another guy getting away with stuff like this for this long
Yeah it's not a political thing (although Evangelical Christian nutjobs like Vic are more likely to get obsessively liked by the political right in America)
(like can he even do a public bullshit pr thing while this is going on? I know he probably shouldn't but these people have established they're not smart)
...You know, every now and then I think "maybe Beard is doing some of this shit on purpose just for the GFM money, maybe some of the incompetence is just him not caring what happens to Vic"
If I'm understanding correctly, Beard is accusing Lemoine of contacting the judge privately... even though Lemoine's letter was sent to everyone... including to Beard himself.......
and, according to Dunford's ongoing livetweet analysis, by accusing Lemoine of an ethical breach, Beard seems to have accidentally also accused the judge of an ethical breach
tbh, everyone on Vic's side thinks that 'consent' means 'well, at least ONE person involved wanted it', and that 'intent' is the same thing as 'result'
And Vic didn't mean any harm(which is, conveniently, something no one but Vic can prove or even know for sure), therefore if harm DID result then it totally wasn't Vic's fault!!!
"If you ever said any syllable to Vic that could potentially be misheard as a 'yes', you are a fame-seeking tramp who was leading him on if you weren't planning on having sex with him" seems to be the prevailing opinion
I mean I assumed from the getgo he was trying to basically blackmail Funimation into settling with a "otherwise I'll show you knew about this ages ago" but watching them call his bluff and the ensuing trashfire is amazing
Along with a very polite request from the judge asking who your law professor was, so he can call him up and ream him and his school for inadequate teaching.
I kind of wonder as a social survey if the Vicstans are also people that tried to defend Harvey Weinstein or Bill Cosby too, or if only now these sorts of allegations are 'wrong' and 'woke/sjws are ruining everything' because "he's the precious voice actor of my animu characters!!!1!one!!"
I'd put money on at least a few of them not defending either/both just because one of them's black and the other's Jewish, based on some of the screencaps that have come out of the kiwifarms forums
And while I have zero statistics on it and haven't looked much at the Vicstan side of things, it feels like I mostly see angry guys who are probably MRAs arguing now
so things are going great over on Team Creep
a reminder that vic's team are supposed to be proving they're being harmed in a defamation case, and that they're not actually the defendants
whenif vic loses, he will have to pay for wasting everyone's time with thisright after mocking the FSE twitter directly so let's see who jumps on me while I'm not looking at twitter for a week....she...didn't...?
