Can anyone send me examples of content on Parler that made it so controversial? Preferably articles with screenshots. I'm finding a lot of articles with just text quotes.

Go figure they weren't paying for it. I also heard the Mercers were funding it.

DevinVaughn I saw mention of one Mercer (I think it was a woman?) had invested in it. Didn't click that part of the link though so don't know much more atm. Catching up on lots of reading.

In the mean time, I've found even more off brand social media sites where nutjobs and anti-vaxxers thrive so that's fun.

it's whack-a-mole, they can always find somewhere to run to. cutting off their services requires them to put in the hard effort of actually knowing wtf they are doing and putting the work in, and also drives them underground where they can't be regulated- but also will have a much harder time recruiting.

i.e. ultimate next step, the dark web, where you have to know where you're going to find where you're going.

If they are on the dark web, it will be limited in its reach.

I highly doubt a majority of those people know how to access the dark web, let alone navigate it.

shorter term, there are still some hosting services that will take their money. but will registrars?

I guess no one will dare host them cause people will go DDOS that service for sure or try to hack it in a way to make Parler go offline again.

Weniki: Let's not simplify it like this. Everybody knew what they were doing when they did it. They are racists or just want to profit from hate and they don't care.

Simplifying stuff helps us to look away from the ugly truth, and the ugliness of it is what got us in this mess in the first place.

Allegory At this point though it's not just about finding new hosting or security services. Now it's the fact that they have no product and therefore no form of income, basically no income. So they're incredibly squeezed for time with limited resources.

Sin : lack of money may kill parler. but gab's got a host that is cool with their actions (that parler is looking into)- now whether they entirely use services that are AND whether they can handle the influx of traffic AND whether they have decent security when they are the next target (which has already started but not yet ramped up)

gab was an even bigger cesspit before- it's welcoming them and it will only make it worse.

Speaking of Gab, there’s this other app called GAB (but it’s a news app for a specific area) and so many people are leaving one star reviews about it because it’s not the app they’re looking for 😂

gab has seen the writing on the wall and at least SAYS they will report shit to law enforcement- which may well kill the platform with their current users, not even just the new potential influx, so at least that's good. MeWe is deleting things and refusing to give them a place.

Allegory I mean...at least Gab's policy is better than Parlor's. Parlor has a clause that if there is any legal issue because of content you post, then you have to foot the bill for any legal work.
