acknowledgment, as always, to greg doucette, a lawyer on twitter who's been covering this nonstop, driving iswv up the wall with lowkey trolling, and who they're constantly trying to ban from twitter
dunford commentary: For example, if you're asked if people talked about you being a pedo AFTER a date, DON'T answer by talking about all the times people talked about that BEFORE that date.
Ty "Percy" Beard filed a request to postpone the hearing currently scheduled for 8 August, when he was supposed to be responding to all of this (which, more on that later)
which is all important, because beard tried to claim to the court that he needed to delay for more time, but his emails and him fucking around on a show clearly show that's a false statement, which is just outright lying to the court
as a note, vaguely recently, VicCons and Screech tried to drum up fake outrage over some old dub outtakes from, like, early 2000s or something where people made jokes that wouldn't fly today, because that's just as bad as Vic's nonsense, or something
The first argument, literally on the first page, is that Funimation's work environment "was amorous and sexually-charged", citing the existence of Panty & Stocking as proof
The second page is mostly pictures of the voice actors doing "raunchy" promotional stuff for the show. (I use quotation marks because it's all pretty mild.)
Oh yikes. I'm skimming further ahead and he's doing the "if she was so concerned for her safety and the safety of others why didn't she come forward earlier?" line with Jamie.
Okay, so the actual argument isn't that long (about 50 pages). He's just decided to attach ALL the previous exhibitions like the affidavits and the deposition transcripts. I can't even tell if there's anything new in the exhibitions because they don't seem to be in any particular order.
So if there is anything new, the judge is going to have to shift through 1000+ pages of all the old stuff to find it. which I'm sure won't piss him off at all. c:
Also, it turns out that because of the way electronic files work in Texas, a document transmitted on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday is considered to have been filed on the next day that isn't one of those. Which in this case is next Tuesday.
Spazy this plurk is just meant to be an info gathering place, so could you please delete that comment? the proper commentary plurk will pop up soon. thank you!
Because "the defense can't prove libel proof by preponderance, your honor, because you didn't know how to pronounce his name" is literally the one dumbest argument that could possibly be made for this element.
Plaintiff's assertion that he is no George Clooney or Tom Hanks is certainly true on various different levels that exceed the appropriate scope of this Reply.
beard did a motion to squash the subpoena, but instead of just saying "he had an event scheduled, this is too last minute", he claimed... client-attorney privileges
supposedly, ConVics are apparently planning to send fake complaints to the bar board against the judge, which will definitely go well for them and this case
update on doucette at the time being: Speaking of Greg Doucette, the twitter powers that be have apparently spoken, and he's locked out of his account until next Monday, aside from his DMs.

reminder that vic is the plaintiff
...So... Apparently Ty didn't turn in three different filings for each defendant. It's a single, 1188-page pdf for all of them.
