I think that it’s very unfair when I have an idea for the end of a story and I actually have to write the rest of it That’s stupid I should be able to just write the one part, and everybody else can infer what Very Obviously happened before that
It’s also very unfair when this idea is for the story I am decidedly not supposed to be writing right now because I’ve been trying to update another one for months
I completely agree. It's also ridiculous that you have to write everything you want your readers to know about various characters. Readers should just have the exact same head cannon so they can perfectly understand the story.
Actually you can just write the one part There's no rules to say you can't and if it doesn't fit the rest of the story once you've figured that out, you can just edit it and then you get the satisfaction of writing it the way you're excited to write it, and the satisfaction of having it be a part of something greater that you created
