Those of you familiar with the story of Harry Potter will know that "the wand chooses the wizard". We have a little special effects show at the park. Inside Ollivanders shop, audience of about 20<25 peeps. One gets chosen, at random, by the "wandkeeper" (NOT Mr. Ollivander) and is challenged to cast a spell - test a wand. Spell fails. Try another wand, fail.
Third wand is selected. Spell works. Lights glow, light wind blows, bit of music. Very special moment fur whoever was picked. Wandkeeper then explains the wand statistics.
Aquaintance of mine is a wandkeeper fur the show. His FB page has:
Wandkeeper experience today with a 10-12 year old girl. I gave her an Ebony wand as the chosen wand, and she started to cry. I thought the moment got to her and she was just emotional due to her love of Harry Potter. After everyone had left, her mother came back in and told me that last week their dog passed away. His name was Ebony.
Yeah - but how many of us think of those "messages from beyond"? Ebony saying to her that he has run ahead to wait fur her at the Bridge - but he hasn't left her. How many of us look fur those signs. Imagine being 10 years old and you get a sign from your dog.
