[dog advice] The little guy I'm sitting is bored and destructive when I'm away, and they didn't leave any chew toys??? He's eaten a book and the window seat cushion so far.

What's the current thinking on the safest chew/toy if I don't know if he's prone to swallowing non food items? The owner hasn't responded but I need to entertain this dog.

There is nothing like that in that area. TV is downstairs in the basement, etc. I might be able to dig out a radio at home. if I can find it.

Owner got back to me. chewy things are fine, so I got him some beef bones and a yak cheese thing. And we've been able to go for walks! Which no one but his family has ever been able to do!

I've actually reduced the area he can use while alone to see if that is better for him. Usually he's in a gated area but they wanted to try the whole kitchen, but I think he feels insecure.
