(when not referring to her as Talky Tina or Chatty Cathy because she lectures while I'm getting food ready, and does the chirp while purring that always cracks me up)
and this morning she continued chatting at me even after she'd finished and walked back out to the den (where her hideout under the TV stand is) and just wandered around sniffing things
and then she rubbed against my leg while I was dishing up her food (but only while I had both hands full so I couldn't try to pet her) and now there's jingle toy noises in the other room
oh yeah, there's playing going on, Mr. Fish keeps ending up in improbable locations, so I just flipped him up into the kitchen, and as soon as I was down the hall she shot out from under the table to get him
she still eats like she thinks someone's gonna get it, but it took Missy months to get over that, and she doesn't immediately try to squirm away when I do scoop her, she does biscuit paws and leans her head into my hand so I can scritch behind her ears
she has determined that I am The Foodbringer - whenever I'm in the kitchen she's either in the kitchen or watching me from the foot of the steps in the den
just now I was refilling my beverage and she VERY LOUDLY ate a bite of kibbles and then moved over to sit next to the empty wet food dish and cry at me just in case I'd missed it
thing one: she did try to sneak into my room last night but I was still awake and she bolted as soon as she realized I could see her thing two: she's catching on that if she lets me pick her up and cuddle her she gets treats
eg: she'll do that deep yowling noise that occasionally sounds like 'hello?' and then when I go check on her (if she doesn't immediately bolt for her hideout under the TV stand) she puts on the tiniest baby voice
and she came back again once I was awake (mostly thanks to Scream Time) and made biscuits of the blanket while rumbling like a diesel engine, so yeah, she just wanted to be a baby
and we have progressed to actually coming into my room to demand dinner, which amuses me since it's been about a week since she would barely come out of hiding even when I rattled a can for her
Number of times I'm in the kitchen to give her wet food per day: TWO
thing two: she's catching on that if she lets me pick her up and cuddle her she gets treats
welp, this is the foot of my bed right now, we'll see if she stays when I get in it
