So here's a fun political billboard from China
https://images.plurk.com/y2ne0nIzv92PE8438IpZT.png
Quinneapolis
if you read it left to right, it says 功成不必在我
Quinneapolis
meaning "Today's efforts will bear fruit after I'm gone"
Quinneapolis
but if you read it right to left, it says 我在必不成功
Quinneapolis
meaning "When I'm in charge, failure is guaranteed"
ғᴏxʏᴍᴏʀᴏɴ
that's incredible actually

geez what a weird text to accompany that board. Makes me suspect if it's Shop'd or not
mózhēngist
but i can't find proof of it being Shop'd just now. Either way, it's quite funny.

I guess we can only infer intent from which way the text in the lower right goes

hm,

The intended direction of text in China (PRC), in modern settings, is always left-to-right. But it's true in more traditional settings, it can be right-to-left.
big juicy
what does the lower text say?
mózhēngist
Guizhou Province Nayong Highway Authority

ok I did another search. It turns out 功成不必在我, 功成必定有我 was a quote by Xi himself. So actually this board is plausible
“功成不必在我、功成必定有我”(人民论坛)--党建-中国共产党新闻网

on a totally unrelated note, this Mongolian page has to use images to display the script which is so not working with the current web format and technology. No wonder Mongolia uses the Cyrillic instead.
