Might a bot thing or twitter itself might dislike it. I think it generally dislikes words like commission and shop because it thinks you'll link off site and they want to keep you on twitter
there's also a lot of bots and people who just like. will show up to post their links irrelevantly if you include the word "commissions" in hopes that they are responding to someone looking to get a commission
its the algorithm, they purposefully suppress anything with "commissions" or "venmo" or "paypal" or links, which i think was initially to stop spammers and phishing or whatever, but it really just fucks over people trying to do actual work or provide service
They have a training set of scam tweets (tweets people report) but they do NOT have a training set of legitimate commercial enterprise tweets (no one is labeling those)
and if you train an algorithm to recognize scam tweets vs AN AVERAGE TWEET based on the content of it then it's going to decide any commercial keywords are indicators of a scam
i offered "cosplay commissions" there where i drew peoples sonas as their fav characters from anime/comics and stuff and those did pretty well for a while
i also offered them as badges at FWA for a few years but i also havent been to FWA since 20...15??? so im not sure if thats super common by now or if it'd still sell as a gimmick but gimmicks do be making the cash
i would sketch like five at a time, ink fand then color them all, run upstairs to laminate, drink heavily and then run back down and have those ready for the next batch. I dont know how i managed to get that much done while also partying, but EVERYONE would get their badges before sunday djsakl i miss those days
