Gardening afternoon ahead! Weeding, veggie harvest, playing with Burgess, and attempting to free the raspberry patch of a massive amount of bindweed.

And I was today old when I learned I shouldn't pull it up, but instead should cut it at ground level.
Bindweed must be cut — not yanked

Good luck! I’ll be over here in my clean front garden with an iced coffee latte!

Is that a viney type plant? It looks like something I’ve got growing here too. It’s annoying! Now I know not to pull it out. It’s hard not to because it intertwines with my other vines that I planted on purpose.

Thanks! Later today, I'll relax on the back deck with Burgess the cat and a stemmed glass of orange juice spiked with coconut and pineapple water flavorer. So good.

Yes, it's a delicate-looking vine that make pretty white trumpet flowers. But do not be fooled, it comes directly from the bottom level of Hell.

Oh yeah, I’ve got a bunch here! Oy vey!

Keep the scissors handy!

We have bindweed in our community plot, which is to say our neighbors have and don’t understand it’s severity. But scissors it is from now on.

In Denver we just called bindweed ‘our lawn’

We have a 'country lawn'. It's technically green, all over, and we mow it. Parts of it are even made of grass!

We’re transitioning from lawn to meadow. Tall flowers and grasses for habitat and to encourage pollinators and fireflies. Moss in damper low areas.

You two are making lovely, intelligent choices.

I'd do more of that sort if we didn't rent, and if we didn't have a septic system in the middle of the back lawn.

Doing all I can around the edges, though!
