Very cool. But here’s where I always get confused. He says his daughter told him that she’s now transgender. Does that mean she’s becoming male or she’s becoming female. I’m usually too embarrassed to ask. Because I hear his say his daughter is transgender so that makes me think she’s turning male.

Not that it really matters either way. It’s just something that I get confused about.

Yeah, these articles would be clearer with something like 'So and so's daughter has announced that she is now a he' but yeah, its not like it matters unless you know a person.

Allegory : that’s what I usually think. Then I saw the baby picture and it looked like a girl. With babies sometimes it’s just hard to tell.

Yeah I’m pretty sure she’s a trans woman, but some of the news reports have been pretty clumsy with language.

A trans person is born the opposite of how they identify, so anyone who respects how they identify will refer to them as the gender they identify as. IOW, if a person is called a trans male, that’s the gender they identify but they weren’t born that sex.
