Just a reminder: Although it feels like we are in the worst of times, remember that it was worse when people were enslaved. It was worse when women could not own property or vote. We pulled ourselves our of a hole more than once.

Fearyfox(Reyn)
Yeah, but we're not at the bottom of the hole this time...

In the 1870s we took a big step backwards, too, but we turned that around. We can turn this around, too, if we don't despair, but continue to fight and to vote - and to really emphasize the importance of local elections...where change can happen more quickly

(((Cajsa)))
We need to change the district attorneys, the attorneys general, the legislatures, the school boards...but that is a hell of a lot easier and faster than changing the Court...but we can change the court if we build change from the bottom up

For sure Casja, but that is stuff from 100 years and more ago, when you see people talking from the 1950s and see their attitudes about sexuality and social norms and the environment that is scary enough, I think they will try to pull things as far back as possible

Fearyfox(Reyn)
Oh, I'm too stubborn not to fight, its just whether it will do any good before physical fighting happens [I don't think we can avoid it no matter which party wins.

I do think it is the time to unite for sure

(((Cajsa)))
I just think when we say it's the worst, it's erasing the historical and familial experience of a lot of people.

Thank you for attempting positivity in a day where I otherwise want to stab myself in the eye. <3 I do appreciate it.

ᕼᗩᒪᖴᗯᖇᗩᎥ丅ᕼ
That is actually true, for many Americans it has been much much worse

ᕼᗩᒪᖴᗯᖇᗩᎥ丅ᕼ
thank you for clarifying

History has brought us here, and its why we cannot lose even one right that was fought for by our ancestors, and ourselves.

My daughter's childhood babysitter's grandmother was born in slavery. It's not that long ago.

My sister-in-law told me when she went to get a driver's license, they told her she needed her husband's signature giving her permission. My brother had to take time off work to go in and sign his permission. It made him so angry they also went to the bank where he put her in charge of their finances, investments, etc. to the consternation of his banker.

Yes, we women got to keep fighting for our rights. The fight is not over. The chauvinistic men will not win!
