i think i might be losing it but like. the npcs in bavan call each other on like regular 50s telephones right. like the pcs are monster exclusive, so like. if souda was to order parts from an npc store he'd have to either go there or make a.... telephone call... right. not send an email
i'm just imagining him trying very hard to be an adult and call the loan company and call for parts and actually maintain the arcade (and potentially hiring a Real Adult NPC to do it better)
souda mentions at least being the breadwinner but also alludes to his mom being more involved than his dad so it's like. i always interpreted it as mechanic savant child fixes as many bike as possible to bring dollar to mom (and technically dad) not necessarily managing the finances himself
