[vegan-related whining]

So I don't eat meat for a lot of reasons. Been that way for a decade. After the first year or so, I pulled my head out of my bottom and stopped being upset that other people still eat meat. Every situation is different! I'm pretty content with my choice and feel like I'm contributing in a meaningful way.

And then former vegetarians/vegans come around and trumpet blast a fart about how skipping meat never made a difference, anyway, and they were silly to have ever thought it would matter.

"Animals don't really suffer that much. It's all propaganda. What about exploited vegetable farmers? Everything sucks, so why bother trying to make a difference?"

And I just don't have the energy to slap them with a synthetic trout.

everything sucks so pick the fights you can stick with

"gosh the world didn't suddenly become my ideal just because i made this change in my own personal life, i guess it's not worth doing after all"

people are so... stupid sometimes
