State Farm is showing me a targeted ad for the proper method of clearing snow and ice off my car. Babe, I'm pretty fucking educated in this. Please spend your marketing dollars elsewhere.

Their method: brush snow off the top of the car. Scrape away ice. Turn on car and drive off.

Correct method: Turn on your car. Blast both heaters. Go back inside and take your morning piss. Brush your teeth. Return to car and start digging it out of the bank formed when the plow came and pushed snow up to your fender. Get enough traction to drive your car to cleared ground.

Brush off snow, scrape off the ice still clinging after hot boxing your car for twenty minutes, check and make sure all lights are clear of snow.

Who is out here keeping their car off while they chip ice off the windshield?

ice happens near yearly here but every year there are people who are like 'ugh this is taking too long, I'm gonna put some hot water on the icy windshield to speed it up'
