法庭現場幾乎就是艾倫索金擅長的伸展台，他擅長以對話和衝突建構角色人格以及立場，短短幾句和幕次就展現角色歷經國家暴力和司法追殺的變化，但又能保有初衷，我真的哭。
唯一可惜的地方是結尾的配樂，當海登發表演說時，配樂提示或者強調的情緒淹沒了那個美，應該讓他歸於靜默無聲的。
在看到這邊時，我一時間感到訝異，電影居然在一開始直接審略暴動現場，這應該是一切的源頭或者衝突的起源，為什麼艾倫索金要這樣做？
在審判階段先是呈現受審時遭遇的不義，以及海登與體制靠攏的一面，相較於其他示威者的基進，海登就像是被招降或馴服一般，讓人摸不著頭緒。
當海登撞見夥伴遭受警察暴力，被打得頭破血流，他說：如果要流血，就讓血流滿整座城市。
然而這又是誰的血？又會帶來怎樣的結果，對比個體在集會活動中的遭遇，以及一個個的士兵在越南喪命，當權者與「首謀」又有了曖昧且難以說清的類比關係。
當國家要求首謀負責，可曾這樣要求自己？民主政體中除了選舉外，又有什麼機會能夠檢驗？
