water heater situation update: still bad, growing more complicated by the minute

apparently our current water heater is installed in a location where it's technically illegal to install a gas heater (in a bathroom)

so the people that came in to replace it.... can't replace it

switching to an electrical heater or installing a gas heater in a different location would both involve a lot of expenses that we can't afford

they're draining and removing the old one so at least there won't be any more leakage but

until we can figure out a solution for this, we won't have hot water

i'll be relieved to not have a slow but inexorable invasion of the elemental plane of water into my bathroom but
