Watching animal rescue videos and getting EMOTIONAL. All my idiots had miserable starts to life and I'm so happy that we're all here for each other now.

Zoe lived with her mate, Zeke, in a small cage with two cockatiels for fifteen years. They were finally surrendered ten years ago to the local shelter. Zoe is blind, mostly deaf, has severe arthritis, and a severe beak issues. Zeke was a nervous feather plucker and suffered from seizures and strokes. He passed away in his sleep a few years back.

Jabari was listed on craigslist and had been bounced around different homes since his owner gave him up. He was definitely a BYB bird - no leg band, never raised with humans. He gave me four stitches in the lip the first week I had him. He's pretty content to destroy toys and talk with us through the day.

Ferris and his eight "siblings" were found at two weeks of age in a field in Arkansas. Honestly, he's never known a difficult life. Every dog in that extended litter were raised and fostered beautifully. Seven of his siblings became PTSD service dogs. Ferris and his twin sister flunked early tests and came up to Maine to be adopted.

Vivian was found at five weeks of age at a construction site. She was very healthy, so most likely her mother had been taking great care of her, but she was so tiny! I kept her in a crate at the foot of my bed and she slowly started to grow and explore.
