The linden economy is fueled by average non-gamers like me who is willing to spend loads of money. Unless they get my demographic into Sansar, its days are numbered.
Even in the world of AI and VR, people steer towards adult content. Separate it and restrict it, sure. Filter who can, sure. But their hilarious concept of trying to make a better SL without adult at all is never coming to fruition.
Even me who isn't into adult stuff myself, I love to gawk at those who are. Zindra is massively entertaining as a people watching sport if nothing else.
I’m def not into adult stuff but I won’t play a game with a bunch of restrictions cos I know as long as the company is thriving then I can keep playing SL how I want to play
I didn't read the whole article but they are pushing sansar hard to streamers right now. I got an email about partnering and pushing to people to download it via an affiliate link.
I really wish they would just improve SL. I'm no techie, but the problem, as I understand it, is that there are hard limits to what's capable with SL because of the way the whole thing was set up to begin with.
They won’t be able to DO much, but if it’s for work or school etc, can at least “tune in” to the event. Although there are way better conference softwares out there
One thing that has always surprised me about SL is the high average age of the user base. Way back in 2006 many of the people I spoke with were 50+ years old.
And I think one reason that SL attracted that demographic was that SL realized something that no one else at that time seemed to grasp: The virtual world is an opportunity to live a second life.
The appeal of being able to do and be is still there ...look at how younger generations take to things as simple as minecraft and roblox. Just a matter of figuring out how to fashion SL to be appealing to the next generation too.

oh I completely agree, the buying land process is stupid and complicated. You shouldn't have to determine your level or any of that other BS. LL should tell you your best deal and give you all the options. "buy as group land, check here for $L amount X." "buy as individual for x...etc.
and by explaining I don't talk about "a prim is..." stuff but more an explanation of what you can do with a certain lot size. Cause if people buy and then it's a TINY thing and they can't do nothing, they're gone.
