I (gently) poked the babies and shook their bed (...yes I bought a live trap and a cat bed and litter box on my way home, what of it) to get them calling for mom
The tomcat showed up two months after I lost Von, Eugen's brother. He's ALSO a big black cat with green eyes, as they were. Momma cat looks like Piper, only with long hair. She put them in a flower pot, behind the chair I held Eugen in for HOURS and sobbed my heart out and prayed to the Gods for comfort
my friend is currently helping a local group deal with a well established feral colony and they've fixed over 100 cats and they're not even close to done
Awww! I wish you the best of luck with the kittens and getting the colony managed once more. We had to do the same thing in our neighborhood, but man, sometimes cats just know where to go.
she did. while i was feeding one. came within 2 feet of me, poofed up, hissed, spit, threatened a fight, backed off. skulked about the yard. when i was putting that one back, i put him on the grass to unzip the pen, she got him and took off
