ShaynaIsHere
1. I am a Smol Jew. 2. I love soft fabrics. 3. I am lucky enough to pet a stray (medically treated!) cat on my college campus regularly.
kikibug13
AWWW! Nice <3

1. I have never broken a bone, though I nearly broke my nose once. 2. A teacher told my parents I needed glasses at age 13 because she caught me squinting at the overhead projector. 3. I was a year older than the other kids in my classes because my school felt I needed to be kept back in kindergarten for being emotionally immature.
ColdGracie
1. I like to dance around my house to very loud music when I think no one is home and generally flail about, sometimes clean.
2. I keep christmas lights up in my room year round.
3. I can't drive without music playing in the car. I freak out
Azure ☪ Moon
1. I was also a twin, but I absorbed them in the womb and I'm a chimera. You mostly only see it in my eyes, but my skin and hair are also from two different "people"
2. I went to a private school that was super old school. They did paddling, even! I would have been left-handed if not for them smacking my hand with a ruler when I tried to write with it
Azure ☪ Moon
3. I'm hypermobile/doublejointed
sAlty
Azure ☪ Moon : oh shit I'm a chimera too! I could have shared that lol
Azure ☪ Moon
kikibug13
/quiet fistbump re hypermobility
Azure ☪ Moon
hypermobile people often have migraines. (yay) yay us...
kikibug13
oh yay
kikibug13
(I was told that people with cold allergies also often had migraines...)
kikibug13
(bodies, HOW DO THEY WORK)
YouKnowWhoIAm
Hypermobile!
YouKnowWhoIAm
Also, I did not know that thing about hypermobile people and migraines, that explains a lot.
Tad Cooper
1. I broke my foot on Mother's Day when I was a child, leaving my parents and I to miss the nice dinner out with grandparents. 2. I actually have both a cold allergy and occasional migraines (huh). 3. I have drunk diet soda, due to diabetic family members, for so long that regular soda tastes funny to me.
kikibug13
AW
Tad Cooper
Yeah, so I now order it out of habit, but it sucks because so many sodas don't come in diet. But they taste disgustingly sweet to me.
kikibug13
I mean, there is a lot of sugar in most of them
sAlty
I prefer diet too, and honestly I prefer zero to both diet and normal... idk why
kikibug13
/sits here with a large bottle of water
kikibug13
all sodas make me thirsty
Tad Cooper
I'm just in it for the bubbles, honestly.
sAlty
I miss sodas
Tad Cooper
When I'm at home, I drink sparkling water.
kikibug13
... and those make a funny not pleasant sensation in the back of my nose. The bubbles, I mean.
Tad Cooper
To each their own?
argent
Tad Cooper : ahaha I've never met anyone else who has that exact relationship to regular v. diet soda
kikibug13
/nodnods indeed.
argent
Tiny weird high five??

kikibug13
alebrije okay but my first thought re #3 was '... so does that mean Hamilton in your car' and I almost apologize for it. And OOH that sounds gorgeous even if not something I'd wear
kikibug13

In my experience the Zero sodas lack the aftertaste that the Diet versions have. :|a

1. After I moved to Philly one of my coworkers put a work laptop away from me and I accidentally told my boss it had been stolen. Later another coworker joked "I heard you learned a tough lesson about Philly", but still in my whole life I've only once been the victim of theft and that was a locked-up bike in a semi gated community back in CO.
resisting li
(I don't lock doors or drawers ever.)
resisting li
2. You would not know it to look at me now but I used to really Hate clothes and fashion. In high school I wore the same actual-army-reserve camo pants like 5 days in a row (and got compliments towards the end of the week), and was also sporting a shaved head because I had wanted a clean start after lots of dye and a perm
resisting li
(I mention they were Actual because they were absurdly big on me.)

3. In elementary school I spent 4 years in a bilingual program that should have taught me fluent Spanish but I also got unlucky and my teacher was the one who took it muuuuch less seriously. (The other teacher was doing whole days just in Spanish.) So I can pretty much just introduce myself and ask how you are.
ShaynaIsHere
Como te llamas? (I hate that I can't do the proper punctuation >.< )

Shard
resisting li : I get that occasionally with Welsh and Spanish crossing over. And I've lived in Wales FAR longer than I ever took Spanish.
Shard
But I still can't remember what the Welsh for 'so-so' is, so I default to 'Asi asi'.

I was trying to remember how to say "me too" in response to getting a bien back for como estas...

I will say this: I think that very early Spanish pronunciation is why I find Japanese pronunciation mostly really easy. A lot of English speakers have difficulty getting their mouths to only make one a sound, for example, because we've just got so many.
resisting li
but Spanish vowels and Japanese vowels have a lot in common c:
ShaynaIsHere
Yes!
sAlty
as native Spanish speaker who learned English later in life I still maintain learning Spanish when you know English is harder than the opposite imo
resisting li
aww. well, I still want to get back to having proficiency in it because of the pure utility of it. but I was a foolish little kid and I wasn't interested in it.
