Have I mentioned that you should see The Arrival? I mean you and you and especially you but maybe not you, but definitely you in the back.

It is a somber, tense, depressing movie that is also about communication, fear, trust and empathy. I really like it.

Although the climactic paradox/pothole didn't quietly handwave itself, no, it flashed Times Square, that is how brazenly it called attention to itself.

I think more artful dialogue may have helped.

That said, it isn't every movie that promotes both science and the digital humanities, so rock on, The Arrival.

I want to see it, but I don't think I'll get there. Do you think it'll still be ok on a smaller screen?

Qwis : There are some fine details that may be too small or grainy on a small screen, but you won't miss much.

I saw it and I think small screen will be fine. I didn't really pick up on those fine details on the big screen. I mean, I knew they were there but I couldn't distinguish them.

Alanna : Depending on the screen size, the detail of the pictographs may be lost, but other than that, I don't think it would be too bad.

Oh, right. I have to see it. And On top of the world. And I still haven't seen MM: Fury Road. I hope to catch Moana and Hidden Figures.
