I'm on a 36 day streak of reading a chapter or 2 every day, this is HUGE for me, I haven't read this consistently since... shit, 2008? 2010? When I still had a commute and a stupid phone

DryadGurrl
(instead of a smartphone to play music on)

DryadGurrl
mostly thanks to having it as a daily checklist item on Habitica but also because I remembered one of the things I used to do which was have an 'easy' book (YA novel, harlequin romance novel etc.) and a 'hard' book (whatever '''adult''' novel I was reading) and for every 2 chapters of the easy one I was 'allowed' to read

DryadGurrl
a chapter of the hard one

DryadGurrl
it was really my parents trying to get me off of 900 first-readers/juvenile fiction books per summer and onto something that was less fluff

DryadGurrl
but when I tell you it's been working even now? Even though the 'adult' book in this case is also pretty easy (Taste of Gold & Iron - Alexandra Rowland)

DryadGurrl
I mean 36 days! Consistent!

Haunted Boobs
Nice!

I've also got Dracula Daily going at the same time, but despite the name it is not daily, and sometimes the day's entry isn't even a full page so I can't count it on Storygraph

DryadGurrl
(maybe this year I'll actually finish it)

Black🎃Cat
Oh, nice!

I've been doing a lot of audiobooks and it's great

DryadGurrl
yeah! I've got some Audible ones left that I never listened to, I'll probably throw those in for while I do handcrafts

DryadGurrl
but I like that I'm actually reading again, and I knew I would, it's just hard for me to start new habits/restart ones I've dropped even if I enjoyed them

StupidSexyV⚠der
yeah

StupidSexyV⚠der
as I've progressed to needing reading glasses more, it's just easier

DryadGurrl
I also remembered that BookCrossing exists, and there's a Little Free Library a couple blocks from us, so if there's stuff in my tbr pile that I don't need to keep, I can tag it on BC and release it in the lil library
