one of our prompts is that our story has to start and end with the same line - verbatim, with the only variation being tense. In their clarification, because a lot of people were asking, can we have a similar but not EXACTLY WORDED version of that sentence, they added a word to the prompt...
so back to asking for clarification - did you mean to add that word, so instead of a mandatory ten words, we have a mandatory twelve? or was that a typo on behalf of your team? (if it was a typo, can we understand why people kind of want a variation allotment)
meanwhile I will continue on in my journey of writing a complete faerie story in 2,000 words and hope that it was a typo and I won't have to fit those two extra words into the prompt sentence.
okay, someone got an answer from the mods - they will now allow the original version of the prompt or the one with the extra word - those are now officially the only two variations of the prompt. (outside of tense) LMAO
okay, I took the bullet and spent the $2 to print the story so mom could edit it yesterday. Edits have been made.
It also came to my awareness that halfway through the story I ended up shifting where the R in my main character's name was... so had to go through and fix that. oops.
