as mentioned on the GFM, I have no job at the moment, we really had no savings, and the government is...the government in america. So anything helps so that I can at least have her ashes returned to me, as...well, she can't even come home until I at least have $1.5K up front.

I cannot express how much this has helped me when I believed I would have to beg for days in order to even get somewhere close to that. I was preparing to have to beg for a loan.

if the government will give the money (which is 220+100), that would about cover it. However, the 1.5 was an estimate, so It may not be 100% accurate as the funeral home could not give me an exact amount unless I was prepared to pay.

still, this is incredible. Thank you, all of you. Any money past 1.5/2k will be going to make a celebration of life for her, as we both hated funerals and wanted something happier. A 'smile because it happened' sort of thing.

Announcement: we have hit 1.6k even with gfm's cut. In literally one and a half days, we have hit the target amount needed for my mother to come home, and I am in such grateful awe

We are at 1.9k! Just an update. We've almost hit 2k, but it's looking like regardless of what the government allows I will be able to have the funeral home start with mom by next week.

We've essentially hit the 'bonus' goals in my mind now, where now I'd like to get enough for an Obit in the local paper, pay off a few minor bills remaining, and fund a Celebration of Life.
