I sometimes don't think people realize (or care) that I don't just have one portfolio I can send to everyone. I mean I do, but I also have like 20+ years of work that I like to curate to reflect the position I'm applying to

I made a 7 page PDF and told them "this is what you get, I don't have a portfolio because I worked white label for years and am not allowed to share any of my recent stuff due to NDAs." Hopefully I can just talk about design, not like this dude knows good design anyway, he's HR ffs.

When I still ran a studio we had a huge portfolio inDesign file and responding to RFPs we'd just pick like 5-8 samples from it that were more or less aligned with the vertical, but of course it's easier to put works together when you're a studio of many people versus a single person flailing on Sunday night because you have an interview tomorrow.
