An awesome New Orleans trip, where the work conference was useful, the history was entertaining, the live music was plentiful, the nerds were on parade, and the food and drink was fantastic.

wow, sounds idyllic! what'd you eat?

Alaska
My favs as a pescatarian: chargrilled oysters, chickory cafe au lait, bread pudding, all the shrimps, and too many Sazeracs and 75s to count (also absinthe).

The first half of my trip was a conference so it was catered, and aside from some slimy catfish it was quite good. The evening receptions had better options for pork eaters though, I generally was pretty hungry by bedtime and all the hot breakfast stuff had sausage all 4 days.

We got into Antoine’s, a truly vintage dining experience and I think our waiter was there when it first opened in 1830 or whatever.
