A method l've found for when it's hard to get back into writing is to pick a song, and just write based on it. Reading the lyrics and incorporating the whole vibe of the song into the piece. Also making it as tropey or convoluted or meandering as you want. There's something about having no expectations for yourself and just goin with the flow that frees you.
