uneven power dynamics are so tasty to me, especially when the person with less power tries to flip the power in the relationship. like it's so riveting

I'm a simple person. Put devotion or yearning before me in a story and I'll go crazy. Add in repression and I become unhinged. Sprinkle in some possessiveness and I go feral.

Desire vs Self control. Yearning vs Repression. Devotion vs Duty.

with obsessive characters, it's all about noticing/cataloguing even the minor details of what/who they are obsessed with & desiring to understand them. considering meaning behind every action. constant interest, curiosity, and observation. fixated on everything they do. paired with devotion, they get immersed in someone that they can't live without them.

There's something about repeating tragedies, about generations repeating the mistakes of their elders despite having ridiculed them for their actions.

I realize now more than ever, that if a story I am writing has more dialogue than introspection, am not finishing it. Everything write is mainly introspection, description, and narrative summary.

A method l've found for when it's hard to get back into writing is to pick a song, and just write based on it. Reading the lyrics and incorporating the whole vibe of the song into the piece. Also making it as tropey or convoluted or meandering as you want. There's something about having no expectations for yourself and just goin with the flow that frees you.

I want to start writing between 8013 and 8583 words per chapter. My goal is to write chaptered fics this year, and I will do it. it's going to happen.
