We joke about aroace characters being immune to sirens but depending on the siren they would not be. if it's the kind of siren who shapeshifts into the person your heart longs for most, aroace characters are where things get interesting

Siren shifting into the character's mom
into the character's childhood best friend they haven't seen in twenty years
into the neighbor they left behind who they thought they couldn't care less about, but just seeing their face is a reminder of how far they've come from normalcy and how deeply much they want to go home

Siren shifting into a sibling who went missing when the character was a child and always kept a tiny glimmer of hope that they were still out there somewhere
Siren shifting into the object of the character's revenge, someone who murdered their kid or burned down their house

siren shifting into one of the character's favorite members of the ship's crew and claims to have fallen overboard
Siren shifting into the garlic bread vendor guy T-T
Siren shifting into a character's fictional blorbo
