We're absolutely including physical changes in the TDM as well! Our failsafe for a character potentially having one set of traits in the TDM, and then another set in the actual game is: Moon Is Weird. It absolutely causes Drifters to pick up and lose traits, depending on Warps, environment hazards, etc.
I love how Akechi is getting scolded for attacking the crowds and he's just like it's the best thing I can do right now because Hereward only knows Eigaon and Megidolaon and he doesn't have his gun xD

I had Akechi's first trait appear in his toplevel be talons 'cause that could work for two of the monsters I'm eyeing for him xD those being chimera and gargoyle (w/ bird build)
I went for nekomata for his third one because while demon is fitting for akechi, the whole revenge aspect of nekomata made me go "actually, that's pretty akechicore, and he gives off feral cat energy anyway"
I opted to give Akihiko exactly one canine ear to mess around with, due to my top two choices for him. And because I enjoy asymmetry. Guy is running around with just one fuzzy ear going "what? WHAT??????"
Materia: Yes. Absolutely. You may have shiny pretty materia marbles that arrive depowered but can be repowered later with AC regains. (I can also answer this again in the FAQ.)
actually, when it comes to things like cell phones/laptops they might have on their person, I assume there'd be no internet access and limited power? (assuming they aren't exclusive to ac regains)
Re, cell phones/laptops: no real internet access, though they could conceivably be wired into the Convoy network. The battery power would be limited... Though with an adapter, you could likely find a place to plug into the Convoy to recharge them. The laptop/cellphone would need to be on their person to bring it with them!
the gas station itself wouldn't have any electronics just yet. We'd need a month or two of travel to reach a better stocked travel center/RP-equivalent-of-Buc-ee's
I am excited to see how all the different player vehicles work together as the game progresses. Scouting vs gathering supplies vs running supplies vs defense and so on.
yup! you get it after solving a quest in the Great Pyramids where Ardyn Izunia shows up, summons Bahamut who then rains a bunch of big swords down on Egypt before promptly fucking off. You also get a bunch of FFXV weapons.
they didn't want to have to create an entirely new model just for one mount so they slapped a chocobo head and tailfeathers on a camel and called it a day. XD
also, in the film adaptation of Doctor Sleep, the sequel to The Shining, the young girl Dan Torrance comes to the aid of (who is also a powerful sensitive like him) has a figure of Emerald Sustrai in her room and at one point we see her astral from, which takes its appearance from Emerald.
I do like the idea that Akechi and Joker build each other up in their minds as this cool and mysterious person and then when they actually hang out it's like "oh, he's actually a huge dork" a;lsdj;
like there are absurdly easy to miss texts where he gets offended when haru implies the black mask kills for pleasure and emphasizes that the BM may be controlled and it's like. Bro. Atlus, why is this dialogue so hard to trigger?
I did very briefly consider making a bad future Leo account instead because it would have been amazing but I don't think I would be able to sustain interest long enough to make it worthwhile lol (also he's in the movie for such a short time)
I'm playing post-royal akechi with the assumption that he lives in the postcredits (the devs said this is a valid reading), but it's a hecking cliffhanger >:|
