[ranting about housemate] so, housemate is choosing to move out, to be with their partner that they've been on and off with for the past 4 years. I think this is dumb, especially since I was there one of the times their partner (let's call them Sock) broke up with them by telling them they didn't actually love them romantically, and also something something

'can't trust you, everyone leaves me, etc' dramatic and semi fucked up to say sort of stuff

housemate says they've gotten better and are in therapy, etc

I also think it's dumb because it really seems like everyone they start seeing more of each other, something blows up in housemates life, they get behind on their orders, they feel over whelmed and take a random few days off from work, they don't get new meds in time, etc

Last time, it was they lost their adhd pills over there

I'm a suspicious person, I know, but damn

also! they are going to be nearly doubling what they pay for rent!

also, Sock claims that their apartment complex, which was section 8 or something last i checked, 'has new management, and will be switching everyone to market rate next year'

and Sock's lease is up in January

so they want to move now, instead of getting controlled rent for another year?????????

... they are not great at life choices, I'm hearing

yeah, I mean, that's what I think

I also am kinda like, well, if they move out I won't know and thus won't be stressing about the choices they're making

like, how dumb do you have to be to let go of even a year of rent control? just move into that apartment!

also, housemate pays $500 plus a share of utilities, and they know we're not going to raise it

like, I sure don't want to make a person feel trapped, ever, but they say they like it here and they're leaving?

I mean yeah, I guess I get wanting to live together, but damn.

and no, I don't want Sock living here, because I don't like them

they were asked to move out of their last place because they were unhappy with the other roommates letting one of their friends, whose HOUSE LITERALLY BURNED DOWN, stay with them for free

while they were having housemate there 6 out of 7 days of the week, also without contributing

also they asked our help moving a year ago, we said sure, they changed days and times three different times

asks didn't even offer snacks or beverages

even though we let them use our truck

so they wouldn't have to rent one

because they don't have a car

so in short I think they're a hypocritical, ungrateful, unkind individual, and I think housemate deserves better

but hey, housemate is an adult

so, go make your choices, housemate. I hope they don't end as poorly as it looks like they will

well. maybe with any luch they'll break up with them for good
