Oh. My. God. When they told me, 'make sure you stay out of the range of reach when someone is driving around heavy equipment', I thought 'duh.' I thought, 'surely, this is one of those things that's so immediately obvious and common sense that
Zappy_snapps
they're just saying this out of a sense of being complete and saying more than needs to be said. No one would actually get close to heavy equipment in motion.'

I thought this right up until my new coworker walked right into the spot I was turning into this morning as I was driving the track loader. I did not touch her, thankfully, but she sure scared the crap out of me. Where is her sense of self preservation?
Zappy_snapps
track loader = bucket scoop on tank tracks, by the way
Zappy_snapps
very fast, very strong, turns in a very tight radius
Zappy_snapps
I never get close enough to get hit if the person who is driving sneezes and accidently jumps in a direction
Zappy_snapps
she just, walks up, as I'm in motion! and then starts moving around in my blind spot!!!!!
Zappy_snapps
I feel so stabby right now

she's also been doing things like talking on the phone and stopping her wheelbarrow 15 feet shy of where it needs to be for me to do my part of the job
Zappy_snapps
I am going to combust
Zappy_snapps
and it's like, our boss is right there!!!! what are you doing!!!!
Zappy_snapps
but also are bosses are nice, and since she doesn't usually do it that bad, there is no taking too happening

nothing I've heard about this co-worker makes me think she could win a game of wits against a guinea pig
Zappy_snapps
frankly, the guinea pig certainly has better survival instincts
