not REALLY but ive recently found that when i have several, assigning each tag a number and then rng-ing them helps me a lot. and sometimes using a pomodoro timer is genuinely helpful
huh. I just go through my inbox. Sometimes it's not oldest to newest, sometimes it's newest to oldest or top to bottom on the post if im looking at my own top level. The only thing is that I cannot lock anything up behind an obligation.
honestly my whole tag plurk thing is kind of a ritual that helps me. just picking out a couple images for the day usually about whichever character i plan to lean into, then digging up a couple songs or fanvids, and then slapping them into a plurk just so i can physically see evidence of the progress i'm making helps build momentum
If I say "I can't watch tv/play a game/do a meme tag until I do all my game tags" I will do absolutely nothing. So it's like, I can do a meme tag or watch half an hour of tv after two or three game tags.
anyway, that's not really what you asked. I like my area to be clean and I like to have a nice thing to drink. But before I had the last few weeks of disasters I was also trying to get back into the groove of answering tags when I woke up, which is a whole different thing.
right now I'm struggling to do tags in between other tasks, which is what I used to do.
so I'm brainstorming dedicated Tag Time and Tag Space ideas, or some kind of "tag start" ritual to help ease my brain into knowing it is time to do tags
itโs harder for me to get them done at home because thereโs so much there that can and will distract me from my hobbies, so i try to give myself a different space for it
BUT like noa if I'm settling in to do a lot at once, I put on music (a character playlist) or a video of them talking, make a nice drink or snack and just pick whatever tag is easiest and start there

: this is kind of cool and I might try it! sometimes I put off things in subconscious anxiety and i might feel like โwell the dice said I had to, just DO itโ
Iโm not the person to ask lol bc Iโll be like โtomorrowโ, and itโll end up being a week haha oh god ๐ HOWEVER when Iโm really good it is either - do (small ) a day, unless you have a LOT of time/ are boomeranging (this is my goal to get back to) OR - just remind myself i donโt suck, turn on a char/ship/RP playlist, and go by character chronologically
those lo-fi beats channels genuinely are nice, so is Elder Scrolls music (both Skyrim and Elder Scrolls online); you will probably enjoy video game music more generally. There are some themed beats channels like medieval lo-fi. Some people like coffeeshop atmosphere.
I like stuff like Perturbator or stuff that sounds like the Challengers soundtrack which, lmao... that's not in line at all with who I play or characters or etc but more in line with who I am as a person.
I usually listen to a playlist I made for claude while tagging to get me in the zone, but I also really like classical covers of songs like ones by vitamin string quartet and midnite string quartet by putting on their playlists or radio stations on Spotify
seconding being in another location sometimes helping me out too, on weekends I've been going to hang out at coffee shops for just a couple hours since I'm also prone to getting distracted when I'm at home or even if I'm watching something while tagging
I struggle with focusing on reading/writing with music, sometimes even instrumental stuff, but it's very difficult to find a place that's totally silent so I'm trying to explore lofi/instrumentals and hoping with repetition it'll be less distracting
i do listen to medieval lofi a lot... tho it's generally in the mornings when i'm not up for more stimulating music or when i want to wind down and chill
I've been using the "go somewhere to tag" method but am running out of coffee shops and... money... lmao. and trying to tie tagging to a routine at home somehow. but I definitely like a nice coffee shop tag session. perhaps it can be a sometimes treat instead of a Requirement
I forget all the psychological reasons it's helpful for people but I think it has to do with it being a productive chill environment with like a low buzz where nothing is very distracting
also if you like the zone of having a nice drink and settling, it might be nice to get into a ritual of finding a different place than you work/do other stuff in your house or on the porch or something, and make some tea or coffee, and just get your head in a "Tag" zone
I have a curated playlist of tracks from the Witcher tbh.... (games and show both). I find that one is ideal but it DOES depend on the canon you're tagging, the Witcher just happens to have a very distinct (and good) score that makes it super easy
this is my entirety YT playlist which is basically anything I've listened to more than once but have a mix of the various genres/moods/upbeat vs quiet level I lean towards lol
it is mix of different with lyrics and purely instrumental though
my go-to channels though to hit up are BLUME (more chill ambient usually) or Cryo Chamber (more horror ambient) for new mixes to try and more quickly find what my brain both sinks its teeth into but can also white noise it XD

it is a nice wind down though. if only I didn't need so much sleep smh
