why have we still not figured out a way to make german dub for movies at LEAST bearable???? like i get dub alwyas sound a bit awkward obviously, but i feel like dub in other languages is at least a bit more natural. german dub sounds strange because the dialogue doesn't even sound like something ANYONE would say and especially not in that way and tone

german cartoon dub is alright so it's not even german dub in general. it's specifically for real life shows and movies where it sounds horrible. even german ads sound more natural

and i get there's probably A reason for ot being this bad but it can't be a good enough one to not at least TRY to make it sound better. i don't even hate the german language that much it just objectively sounds bad

also i don't mean this in the regular all dub is bad way, german dub is genuinely not good. dubbing can be well done and we see it all the time even if you're not personally the biggest fan of dubs. but german....

i also could sweat they use the same 10 VAs for bigger movies in rotation. they all sound the same 😭
