It’s so cold in my house that the heat came on and I had it set at 15C. Normally downstairs (where the thermostat is) is 2 degrees or so warmer than upstairs.

Ironically (or not) this dynamic shifts once the central heating is on. Then downstairs is about 2-3 degrees cooler than upstairs. Go figure. Science I guess.

I think it’s the difference between radiators upstairs and floor heating under really thick ceramic tiles downstairs.

it's been chilly here, I sneak to the thermostat and bump it a few degrees on these days, brrrrr! When kitty snuggles my tush at night, it's clear it's COLD!

15°, is that even healthy?
Gingo!
I thought I was a regular Spartan, keeping mine at 62° (around 17°C)

Tillie : you get used to it. Extra layers and sitting under blankets are key. I’ve got like 4-5 throws on my couch and I’m always under at least one of them and sometimes two. It’s my fingers that get cold mostly.

Tillie
but why?

warm air rises so you heat up the air downstairs and it rises up.

Tillie : I’m cheap and it saves me money! LOL

sjonsvenson : oh really? Is that how it works? I had no idea (even though I studied science and thermodynamics in school).

Unfortunately it doesn’t rise up enough here because the stairs are by the ingang.
