i think he will stray into the dark and it might be a little bit of a battle BUT i feel like that would be cheap when his story is so like - its about hope. and surviving and not giving up, but its about hope and i feel like that would just. suck. honestly.
whats tired and done is taking a character who's dealt with trauma and pain and suffered a lot, giving them a tiny bit of happiness and then killing them off
like not just is Star Wars about hope, about how no one is ever too far gone, it's about how the tinyest spark Light will ignite the and grow given the smallest bit of care and will destroy the Darkness
esp because I read recently that early on when adam driver was told the character arc, we were never supposed to get the full ben solo flip back to the light

I think... Cal has a family now, and he doesn't have to be "the" Jedi; we have narratives of the lone Jedi hero. So his story could end with him living out his days on Tanalorr.
you get to have your family here but you never get to see the rest of the galaxy again, or he's injured in some way that makes it impossible to be the hero but not to train kids
honestly like for cal, that would be a great ending - for him it would probably feel like a sacrificce, having to step down and stop fighting -- or not, maybe by that point he will be at peace with himself enough to settle down
