[work] I think I'm going to start digging into data analytics to see if the field is a good fit for me

I like my current job quite a bit, but the fact of the matter is that there is very little room to increase my salary without taking on a management role, a move I am trying to avoid at all costs.

And over the last few months I've started to feel like my position is also becoming less and less assured...

It's for reasons outside of my control; my team is kind of niche and a lot of people don't even know what we do, so we're constantly having to justify our positions and why the whole thing would fall apart without us lmao

But half my team left this year and the positions haven't really been backfilled, and Corporate America has been really focused on cutting costs, so we're being questioned even more than usual.

I'm also looking into data analytics!

I kind of figure that like, worst case scenario, I'll decide I don't actually want a job in data analytics but the skills would still be really useful in my current field...
