I learned that I can apologize for my actions without apologizing for my feelings.
I am sorry for yelling at you. I'm not sorry for feeling angry.
I am sorry for the way I handle the situation. I am not sorry for feeling hurt.
While I may not word it that way in a conversation I remind myself, that I can be both accountable and validate my own feelings.
