according to the labels both yarns are worsted weight, the holiday spirit/Italian pride one is 100% cotton, the oatmeal one is 96% acrylic (4% 'other fibers')
DryadGurrl
plus cat for scale, apparently, and please ignore that the drawstring on the first one is way too short and on the second one is way too long, I'm still working out how much length is lost in braiding
DryadGurrl
BUT
DryadGurrl
if you were to see a basket/chest/cardboard box full of these guys at a craft fair, for instance, how much would you expect them to cost?
🌸waffle🌸
How long did it take you to make them, and how much yarn did they take?
DryadGurrl
About 90 minutes each and uhhh not sure
DryadGurrl
the first one was somewhere between half and 3/4 of a 2oz skein, but IDK what that translates into in length
DryadGurrl
AH, it does have yards on there hang on calculator time
DryadGurrl
probably about 50 yards
DryadGurrl
between 50 and 65 yards, if my math is correct
🌸waffle🌸
So I think $15 each might be the most people would be willing to pay for those, and that might be pushing it? They look good and well made but they're a little plain
DryadGurrl
Okay, that's still more than I was reckoning at $10 each (and IDK if Ko-Fi factors in shipping or not)
🌸waffle🌸
yadda yadda yadda late stage capitalism your time is worth more than that
🌸waffle🌸
$10 is definitely more likely
DryadGurrl
lol yeah, I was already doing the 'rate per hour + materials' calculation I have and laughing so I didn't cry
🌸waffle🌸
yeah like I said, 15 would be pushing it
ΔΕΞΑI
you could split it and sell acrylic for 12, the other for 14
ΔΕΞΑI
add some copy about ~all natural uguu~ to justify the slight bump/material cost difference
DryadGurrl
the cotton is definitely harder to work with, and I've got some wool blend ones that are uhhh fine
ΔΕΞΑI
remember to include links to your kofi, patreon (???), and poshmark on your page UNLESS there are rules against (i don't know because I don't make physical objects)
DryadGurrl
nah, nothing fancy enough for a patreon, but I've got my ko fi and my poshmark on my plurk profile, and links on a pinned tumbl post
DryadGurrl
(or, rather, nothing consistent enough for a patreon, like, not doing my own patterns or anything like that)
ΔΕΞΑI
ah, gotcha
StupidSexyV⚠der
"you could split it and sell acrylic for 12, the other for 14" and two acrylic for 22 and two other for 25
