an aspect of yes! precure 5 that I think we don't talk about enough (technically spoilers if you haven't seen it but plan to)
▲▲
is how at first it presents bunbee as an ominous high-ranking villain, probably near the top of the organization, merciless toward his underlings, etc.
▲▲
and then after you get past the introducing-everyone arc the guy he dropped into a "you have failed me for the last time" trapdoor climbs back out and he's fine
▲▲
and he starts doing shit like attacking the precures himself because he doesn't have anyone to send today due to budget cuts
▲▲
and finally you meet the guy who actually has the job that the first few episodes led you to believe was bunbee's job, and bunbee himself is just like
▲▲
a middle management guy
▲▲
and kind of sucks actually
▲▲
and by the time he turns back up in gogo! you understand that he's just Some Guy whose resume happens to include turning into a weird bee man and fighting magical girls
Zestium Beam!
the fact that Bunbee manages to keep winding up in regular jobs and is the weird bee man who still manages to occasionally fight a precure or just run errands for the people who are in charge of fighting precure is a delight
Zestium Beam!
cause he's kind of like the Larry Phenomenon from Scarvi and I feel like if he was in a modern precure other than the possible future series and in one of the new shows he'd go over VERY WELL
Zestium Beam!
"Here's your paperwork for today, I've filed your reports, and I'm subbing in for the monster of the week so HAVE AT THEE"
FOR THE CALD
Bunbee is amazing.
