What's new, you ask? Well Bear has managed to stay out of the ED for the past 2+ months! Our roomie's daughter moved out, and we finally finished moving out of the geodome and back up into our old 2nd floor bedroom again. (had moved out of it when I was having knee issues and then she moved in 5ish years ago, and we finally have our space back!!!

I put plastic over all the windows, covered the floor in plastic, then put down floor pads. and finally rugs. I washed what I could of the walls and washed the curtains. We got the bed frame and the big-ass sled headboard up there, along with the king-size bed/mattresses etc up there this weekend. So yes, finally sleeping in a real room again.

Small room that needs to be repainted, and the holes in the walls patched up... but it's an actual room that can hold heat from the little heater!!! I wasn't cold and aching when I woke up!

Our house is heated via a wood stove in the 1st floor kitchen, and a number of electric heaters in the individual rooms.

The geodome is off the kitchen - think 90 degrees to the left and up a couple stairs, and it's something like 25 x 25 feet across with a 16 or 18 feet? maybe taller ceiling. it's basically half of a mutant golf ball. With no way to heat it other than an electric heater. VERY little insulation, and due to ground erosion, the structure is slooooly

starting to tip? Settle improperly? whatever. Combine that with the metal straps connecting the triangles getting very old and starting to snap - last year I could see the ground through the spaces in the wooden wall framing. No insulation under the room to speak of either.

So when I say I would wake up and cry because I was so cold it hurt, I mean it. It used to hurt. Fingers, knees, toes. Hell, even the top of my head would hurt.

Now? I didn't have to wear a hat or socks to bed for the entire weekend, even though it got down into the 20's (-5.5 c) outside.

First time in literal YEARS. PLUS I am getting more casual exercise just hlby going up and down the stairs!

...

Got loads of laundry, a bunch of dishes done, etc. All in all a really productive weekend for the fuzzy one and I. He even got 2 wall panels up on his new workshop!

I will take pics of the room tomorrow. Not sure if I will post them, but I want to have something to remember in case it all goes to hell.
