if you app before the end of the month u will get in for the "design your team's house" event. also I still haven't finalized my character choice so I'm gonna mumble about options in this plurk
huge upside is he is a great fit for the tone/premise. good at 'rural living' kind of stuff like ranching and fishing and making things. would be wholly accepting/cooperative with trying to help the princess and his team and the community etc. can roll with it and find meaning in his being here whatever may happen. Wheel of Fortune arcana motherfucker
main downside is he is not all that outgoing. otoh he is hysterical to bounce off people who are like. barbed or unsociable since he just takes it in stride. so he doesn't quite come with one of the usual worries with less outgoing characters of being like, easily discouraged from talking to someone
"Heath doesn't pick up a fork if he drops it on the floor because he's accustomed to it being something servants should do for him" actual canon statements
I'd be excited to bounce probably any mhyk off of Grace and Iris tbh. Leno "was literally a soldier in a bloody revolution" and Heathcliff "sometimes I am so anxious about being persecuted for being a dangerous wizard that I turn into a panther and mindlessly attack people" have great setups to compare notes and opinions with carlydegen charas
OWEN: this is by far the highest difficulty level and it really depends on his direction in later canon I haven't gotten to in reread yet if I even think he could be a plausible app choice for me to pull off but. unfortunately I love him
one of the biggest drawbacks of Heath is actually that he like needs/genuinely enjoys some amount of like umm soft peaceful interactions that I may find kind of difficult/boring to play out often cuz I'm me
Leno and Owen don't really present the same drawback even though Leno also likes a lot of soft domestic things bc they just behaviorally don't talk like normal people. so I won't have to worry about "what would a normal person say here." Owen will always try to pick whatever dialogue option will make things Worse
I may feel self-conscious if I try to pull off Owen's capacity to needle at ppl's anxieties and it doesn't land with the other player... he's not always right so it's not like it'd look like I fucked up from the outside but I'm an easily embarrassed person
I think ummm it's nice that we have a good amount of charas in the current pool that are kind of like "I want to give guidance to my juniors" types cuz a lot of mhyk characters are in the midst of growth/flux and will play off and mutually benefit those kinds of dynamics pretty well
Leno isn't really a kid who needs to be taught and would not parse that way to others but he also would still be fun to play having conversations with people who are kind of more decided in their feelings on their experiences
even worse dark horse contender: central au Murr
