Question for the weavers: how to you call that type of weaving in English? Catalognes – Christine Boutin

Qwis
They look like the rag rugs I make on a 2 shaft loom.

Qwis
But using nicer fabrics, cut into thinner strips.

ProfPaperclip
Yeah, I would call it rag weaving.

According to Wikipedia, if you're using a linen or other type of frame it's called "prodded". Otherwise maybe braiding?

: I am more asking for how you call the finished product. The weaving itself, it is plain/linen weave (the most basic there is: over, under, repeat), just using regular thread but also cloth cut in stripes. I've seen "catalognas", but I wondered if there was another word in English.

(And I just noticed the French word "catalogne" was not even in the wiktionary, so I added it. I think it's my first serious contribution.
