apparently it used to be Chris Steak House and then Ruth took it over but didn't want to redo the whole sign

When a kitchen fire destroyed Chris Steak House in 1976, Ruth was forced to relocate her business, but the Chris Steak House name wasn't allowed to come along. Short on time, Ruth improvised, adding her own name to the sign.

also slightly off topic, I've eaten at RCSH with my parents once because mom wanted to go for her and dad's anniversary, and it definitely is pricey but also the food fucks

Well like I said they cook most of their items in an excessive amount of butter so very tasty (but it will also wreck some people)
