also only just worked out that at some point in the last few years I bought my own copy of a specific xmas dance CD where the club had just the box & cover - but therefore must legitimately have owned it (since no-one else in the wider uni would have bought it, unlike the dodgy copies of rock/pop CDs found lying around).

therefore to do MP3 versions of those for storage for future use, even if it's not worth burning a replacement CD these days.
