if you fight your way through the automated system, then with a little luck you might eventually get to be on hold for six hours

calling cvs is the worst, actually

I have been on the phone for 45 minutes and have yet to be addressed by a human

the worst part is when the hold music occasionally pauses for like one second

so you think someone is about to pick up

Okay, so I used to work at CVS and I can tell you that this is one hundred percent due to the curse of modern retail: lean staffing.

They always hire like a tiny fraction of the people actually needed to run even one part of the pharmacy, and then they have them handle the entire pharmacy all at once.

tl;dr This is definitely the fault of some corporate asshole.

And you should be allowed to find whoever that is and fistfight him in the desert.

I am 100% unsurprised by this

also I have given up for now because I can't just sit here listening to hold music for hours on end!
