Bossie 6. Name something from your character's past that affects their behavior now in a way they don't realize and something that affects them in a way they do realize. I think something he does realize is that his home life wasn't happy and it led him to seek out a stronger father figure than he had. What he doesn't realize is that

because he never came to terms with his home life, no amount of validation from Pope would ever be enough, so it pushed him to do more and more and more in order to please him

12. What sorts of things does your character use to evaluate someone they've just met—clothes, looks, attitude? Is there anything (besides bad behavior) that will give them a kneejerk dislike of a stranger? A kneejerk affection? He always looks for weapons and he judges them on how many layers they wear or don't. Survivors wear layers! Banter apparently

gets kneejerk affection, as does past military experience. He may buck against that and try to kill them anyway but if you're military he has an ingrained softness towards you.

JESUS 16. How sensitive are they to passive aggression or backhanded compliments? Do they ever read too much into things? He's very aware of them. He doesn't look to other people for validation so he mostly rolls his eyes about it and analyzes why they're being passive aggressive, rather than take it personally though

way to win him over though is to be relaxed and genuinely smiling. Be friendly! He loves friends! Kneejerk dislike...proooobably someone who just won't listen to any kind of reason or dissenting opinion

18. Are the standards your character holds other people to higher, lower, or equal to the standards they hold themselves to? Do they notice that? Oh man this is a good question. I think he holds some people (like Maggie) to a much higher standard than himself. He puts her on a pedestal and I think he's going to do that with some of his lovers in Dupe too

He thinks they're better people than he is. So they have to live up to higher standards.

But in general he's very forgiving of human weaknesses and flaws and so when people mess up he accepts it and gives second chances

24. If someone hated your character for no apparent reason, how would they take it? Would they try to change their minds? Could they live without knowing why? I think he's used to people kind of disliking him based on things he chooses to do that are unpopular. But yeah I think he'd try to change their mind, he hates conflict so he's always trying to

smooth things over and make everyone get along. He'd accept it eventually as long as that person's dislike of him didn't mean they got in his way though
