yeah the mage's existence is a difficult dilemma. They know they are slowly destroying the world but they still want to live and feel guilty for it, especially since their world was destroyed trying to cut off the magic cycle completely by sacrificing their world to save the universe as a whole.

Over time she wanted to interact with the real world more and she slowly added more magic into the world, trying to break the barrier between her world and the real one.

However Arrakis and his friends escaped so that plan failed
