JingleBells
The Doctor would try to save everyone and use reason first with the recuse and if that didn't work - well
KrisKrampus
If he did that, Wes would be somewhat taken aback. "Doctor... I did not expect this side to you.
JingleBells
XD
JingleBells
it completely depends on how unreasonable the thing that took Wesker or anyone is
JingleBells
there's such a scale of that
JingleBells
but I got tired of saying the same thing to many plurks
KrisKrampus
Yeaaah, considering Wesker is almost a one-man army and immortal on the "absurdly hard to kill" sense, it would have taken some ingenuity from someone very dangerous and intelligent to capture him.
KrisKrampus
And then contain him.
JingleBells
or something that could null his abilities
JingleBells
its not a question how powerful the thing is
JingleBells
or piece of tech
JingleBells
its how reasonable or unreasonable those beings are
KrisKrampus
Good place to start being a serious overdose of that weird serum he requires to keep his mutations from running off the rails.
JingleBells
sometimes they're trickable; with just someone's rambling
JingleBells
and this is Doctor Who so - just kidnapping a person isnt the entire story
JingleBells
Like if this was your character kidnapped by Daleks (idk why you're not exterminated on spot) it would be A LOT of chatting
JingleBells
but like Cyberman they'd be destoryed
KrisKrampus
Indeed.... the driving question is 'why' this person and for what purpose...
JingleBells
and how reasonable or not the being is
JingleBells
Daleks you can talk too but Cybermen dont care for talking
JingleBells
or a giant snake creature that isnt all the smart but is powerful
JingleBells
then talking is worthless
JingleBells
but if the snake creature is very smart and talks via telepathic than there's a conversation
kingdonkey
Klaus gets kidnapped by someone and they’re like, “TAKE HIM BACK!!! PLEASE!”
JingleBells
LMAO
JingleBells
the Daleks or Cyberman?
kingdonkey
Idek
JingleBells
daleks would be confused on why you dont stay dead
JingleBells
but the thing with being turned into a Cyberman is
JingleBells
they take out your bits
kingdonkey
Ahaha. Right? “Oh, hey guys”
JingleBells
So - there isnt coming back for Klaus?
JingleBells
they take out your brain and put that in a metal body
JingleBells
but its implied they just like to take out the other stuff first - just - cause
JingleBells
to be honest; I think after The Daleks shot Klaus a few times and saw he kept coming back
JingleBells
they might think he's a Time Lord XD
JingleBells
and thus take him captive
JingleBells
to be honest if Klaus's canon ability worked in Who-verse
JingleBells
Klaus would be mistake for a Time Lord
JingleBells
and that isnt a good thing
JingleBells
and because of the Time War
JingleBells
most beings in that universe know
JingleBells
that a Time Lord has 13 lives
JingleBells
Im sorry Klaus
JingleBells
And this - is why Jack played dead when the Dalek shot him
JingleBells
JingleBells
kingdonkey and The Master- he would know that Klaus isnt a Time Lord
JingleBells
but kill Klaus just for fun; over and over
JingleBells
Like The Master did do to Jack for an entire year
JingleBells
Im sorry Klaus this is a unvierse that would indulge in killing him just because they could
JingleBells
rose
oh okay that comment makes more sense now. I was like what plurk??
JingleBells
Mmm its very situational
JingleBells
He dont just go in and blow crap up xD
JingleBells
IDEALLY
JingleBells
The Doctor would want to sneak in and sneak out
JingleBells
but that doesn't really happen so -
JingleBells
because even if he did manage to do with that with Jack ; lets say
JingleBells
whatever has Jack, i.e, The Daleks, The Master
JingleBells
they cant just go and allow destruction of an entire world or galaxy
JingleBells
so Im sure The Doctor could sneak in and out of a jail cell for someone
JingleBells
but then theres the bigger picture
JingleBells
But do try to keep the element of surpise while gathering as much intel as possbile
JingleBells
and then theres the downside of saving someone who isnt good at being sneaky
JingleBells
so they'd be discovered and end up running and most likely both captured
JingleBells
xD
JingleBells
rose you didnt think The Doctor would just go did you?
JingleBells
XD
Nicholaj
I'm not sure this scenario will come up in Lab but I'm curious. If during the Doctor's intel gathering he found out that Arrakis was captured because his very existence is a threat to the world, would the Doctor still try to save him?
JingleBells
yes
JingleBells
thats his friend
JingleBells
you're acting like The Doctor's existence isnt a threat to the universe
JingleBells
he's not gonna change his mind unless Arrakis willfuly does something at that level
JingleBells
this is the same thing with Essek
JingleBells
unless Essek does something willingful that is threating to a vast majority
JingleBells
its all good
JingleBells
You are all allowed to have another chance at life
JingleBells
this is also WHY 10 lectures so much
JingleBells
He does try to convince the attacking aliens to think about what this means and try to be better
JingleBells
Doctor isnt judging anyone on their past actions
JingleBells
he's judging everyone on their actions right now
JingleBells
hakuna matata
JingleBells
that all said
JingleBells
Ten does also try to save his enemies
JingleBells
:x
JingleBells
and he's very sad that they choose to not come with him and live
JingleBells
with a few expectations
JingleBells
but Darvos, Dalek Sec, The Cult of Skaro, The Master, Professor Lumic, Mr Finch, Cassandra
JingleBells
There's some level of trying to reason with them, try to change their mind or try to save them in the end or all three of those
JingleBells
Point is he has extended to save his enemies
JingleBells
and then he also completely implodes his enemies and brings about their destruction
Nicholaj
I love that about the Doctor and Arrakis won't know what to say. His magic isn't natural and it's slowly damaging the world so he wouldn't blame the Doctor for choosing not to save him but he would also be so happy that he's still chose to.
JingleBells
;3;
JingleBells
I mean - if they were in Arrakis's universe
JingleBells
The Doctor would try very hard to figure out how Arrakis's magic would not slowly destory the world
JingleBells
maybe figuring out to rid Arrakis of his magic entirely
JingleBells
but that would also be Arrakis's choice
JingleBells
or putting Arrakis in a bubble universe - wait isnt that game setting? XD
JingleBells
but he'd try to be clever if he was in Arrakis universe so he wouldn't have to make that choice
JingleBells
because the needs of the many do out weight the need of the one :x
JingleBells
and he tries so VERY hard - for everyone to win
JingleBells
which is probably why he burns out :X or a reason
JingleBells
But if it was the only way; he would not be happy having to Arrakis out of his misery so that everyone else could live >:
JingleBells
BUT - we're not in Arrakis universe setting so
JingleBells
but if The Doctor's hand got forced that way; killing Arrakis would be on the table to save everyone else ;3;
Nicholaj
yeah the mage's existence is a difficult dilemma. They know they are slowly destroying the world but they still want to live and feel guilty for it, especially since their world was destroyed trying to cut off the magic cycle completely by sacrificing their world to save the universe as a whole.
Nicholaj
It didn't work since the mages survived so Althiya was sacrificed for nothing.
JingleBells
JingleBells
this sorta sounds like the Time Lords on some level
Nicholaj
lol that's a fun coincidence!
JingleBells
them wanting to surivie to the put where they would have Inifinity gauntlet the entire universe and become higher forms of consciencness
JingleBells
no its not because The Doctor doesn't want to have to genocide an entire species Again to save the universe
Nicholaj
yeah, in Arrakis's world magic isn't natural. Humanity's imagination, and the desire for there to be something after death, accidentally created a pocket dimension and a magical entity they called the nameless goddess. (people believed names hold power so they never gave her a name)
JingleBells
anyways he wont have to make this choice in game and he won't hold Arrakis accountable for what someone is
Nicholaj
she's trapped in her dimension but she wanted to give the people that created her a gift, which is how the first mages were created. Over time she wanted to interact with the real world more and she slowly added more magic into the world, trying to break the barrier between her world and the real one.
Nicholaj
the world can only handle a very small amount of magic though and even that is slowly destroying the natural laws of the world. Magic originated on Earth but the mages were exiled to another world, Althiya in order to protect Earth from the dangerous magic.
Nicholaj
One of the last mages before Arrakis's generation (there can only be one mage of each element at a time) found out the truth and decided to take it a step further and eliminate all life on Althiya so the goddess couldn't create more mages and therefore end the cycle for good. However Arrakis and his friends escaped so that plan failed
Nicholaj
yeah luckily they won't have to make that choice in game
JingleBells
I mean the only solution would maybe be The Doctor being able to communicate to her and asking and reasoning with her that what she tried to do will now; slowly tear apart space and time
JingleBells
and ask her to take away their magic so they could at least still live
JingleBells
but yeah; Arrakis is in a bubble universe where that wont be an issue in theory
JingleBells
they'd be powerless but at least they could be alive and not slowly eating space-time
JingleBells
this is the Time War all over again >.>
JingleBells
at least on beings eating apart space-time
JingleBells
Nicholaj the battle between the Time Lords and Daleks
JingleBells
since both sides could time travel
JingleBells
The Daleks stole it from the Time Lords
JingleBells
the rinse and repeat was slowly burnig space and time
