It depends on the demands of who you're doing it for how many multiples but it's always four

Yeah, always in groupings of four

Yeah it's definitely 4 or a group of four

It's not just the eighth notes, I think it has to do with the train sound being a "loop" and the four chuggas completing the loop.

(Like, slightly different tones. But I could be wrong.)
